The research in our group is mainly dedicated to the development of novel sustainable catalytic methods for the construction of complex biological active compounds. Two main strategies are followed up,
(i) the use of Ru-based complexes for sequential catalysis, and
(ii) the use of non-toxic nucleophilic Fe-complexes as a new class of catalysts.

The methods developed in our group are employed in complex natural product synthesis, in which the principles of sustainability are translated into 
(i) the use of chemoselective catalytic transformations in order to
(ii) minimize the amount of energy and
(iii) to avoid or minimize the use of protecting group operations.
