Felix is starting his Ph. D. studies!

Felix is back to the group after completing his M. Sc. studies. His work as a graduate student will be focused on iron catalysis (CRC1333) and synthesis. Welcome back and a lot of success!

Flavia has joined the group for her postdoc.

After completing her Ph. D. in Nottingham, England, Flavia joined the group for her postdoc studies. She is working on natural product synthesis (PPAPs). Welcome to the group and tons of success!

Guobao has started his Ph. D.

Guobao Li has joined the group for his Ph. D. thesis. He will be working on Ruthenium catalysis (CRC 1333). Welcome and a lot of success!

Fabian has won a poster prize!

Fabian was awarded a prize for his poster at ORCHEM 2018. Congratulations!

The group was attending ORCHEM 2018.

The whole group attended this year's ORCHEM conference in Berlin. We had three great days in the german capital enjoying the talks of excellent speakers and meeting new people.

Franzi Schumacher is starting her Ph. D. in the group.

Franzi 2 has returned from her internship at Merck to pursue her Ph. D. She will be working on a project of the recently aquired CRC 1333. Welcome back, Franzi, and a lot of success for your work!

Fred's, Johannes' and Franzis work was accepted for publication in Angewandte Chemie.

The iron-catalysed cycloisomerisation of 1,6- and 1,7-enyneacetates towards bicyclic cyclobutanes proceeds under mild conditions as well as good yields and diastereoselectivities. As iron catalysts, the known [Fe(CO)(NO)(PPh3)2][BF4] and a novel species, [Fe(CO)(NO)(PPh3)2][BArF4], were employed. Those complexes provide selectively 6-4-membered and 5-4-membered rings, respectively. Congratulations!

Lei's recent total synthesis was published in Organic Letters.

Lei's work on the synthesis of several Picrotoxane alkaloids was published in Organic Letters. The enantioselective synthesis of Dendrobine, Mubironine and Dendroxine relies on state-of-the-art catalytic reactions, e. g. Diels-Alder reactions, Fe-catalysed lactonisation and Cu-catalysed cycloisomerisation. The LLS includes not more than 10 or 11 steps for the construction of those natural products. Well done, Lei, and congratulations!

Min received a scholarship.

Min got the Chinese Government Scholarship by the CSC (Chinese Scholarship Council). Congratulations, Min!
