Philipp was born and raised in Munich, where he studied chemistry and biochemistry at the LMU working for Prof. Trauner on the synthesis of photoswitchable antifolates. He transferred to the TUM to complete his masters in chemistry with a focus on industrial drug design. For his PhD thesis Philipp decided to join our group to shed some light on the secrets of biological active type-B PPAPs. He is working on the synthesis of new PPAP derivatives,  photoaffinity probes and fluorescent drugs for in cellulo Imaging experiments. Besides his enthusiasm for medicinal chemistry he is also a big basketball fan, likes hiking and checking out the newest restaurants in town.
